Are you TUF enough?

First, I've got to talk about tonight's premiere of TUF 3:

Holy crap-
Ultimate Fighter 3 is fantastic. They definitely made the right choice in hiring Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock as coaches. No friendly competition this year- both guys just want to win and then beat the crap out of each other. Do we really think that Shamrock can go the entire season without feeling "disrespected" and getting up in Tito's face?

I'm curious as to who will have the winning team. On the one hand, Tito really looked for guys with drive, who maybe didn't have that much experience, but wanted to learn and were willing to try new things. On the other hand, Ken just picked guys who he thinks could beat each of Tito's guys, but they all seem a little arrogant and unwilling to really give up control to Ken's coaching style. Plus they all seem pissed off that Tito didn't choose them and now they're looking for revenge. Will this season turn out to be guys who really want it vs. guys who think they deserve it?

The one thing I don't understand is why Shamrock picked that nutritionist to be one of his coaches, rather than a ju jitsu specialist, since he admitted that is his weak area. I think the guys on that team are being short changed a bit- you have to be well rounded to succeed, and they'll need to learn more than Ken's leg submissions to do so.

I missed Ultimate Fight Night tonight thanks to TiVo (damn you, TiVo!) but hopefully I will get to see UFC 59 Reality Check. The main event is going to be a joke (Arlovski is going to destroy Tim Sylvia, who should not be billed as one of the best strikers in the sport), but I can't wait to see how the Forrest Griffin/ Tito Ortiz fight plays out.

Ok, I'm done ranting about MMA- I'm sure your eyes are glazing over by now. :)

Where is the new Knitty??? It's spring! Please, give us our Knitty!

The new
VK has a lot of super cute stuff- I have to finish more of my WIPs before I buy anymore yarn and start anything new. I do have one complaint though- my favorite pattern, the Tunisian corset is crocheted. Are you kidding me? It's Vogue Knitting- I want to knit my stuff, not have to learn to crochet just to make this one top. :(

Finally, Gamera Turtle's site recommendation of the day-
NY Nosh. The New York snacking blog just happened to be featuring Sassy's Sliders, a mini burger (a la White Castle) place on the Upper East Side. Not red eared sliders, but sliders nonetheless...
